Welcome to Seamanship School International Alumni Portal

Seamanship School is an Indian Naval Training School commissioned on 01 Jan 1976 under the administration of INS Venduruthy, under the aegis of Southern Naval Command.

During the formative years of the Indian Navy, there had been no institutionalized training in Seamanship. In order to give the right impetus to this fundamental aspect of Naval operations, this School was commissioned and commenced training from the barracks of the erstwhile B & D school. Subsequently the school moved to the present location on 01 Jan 2001.

All the Seaman Sailors of the Navy and Coast Guard have to pass out through the portals of this School before undergoing their professional training.. Approximately 200 officers and 3500 sailors are trained in this school every year. The School will soon be conducting the STCW-95 pre-sea courses.
