Diving School is the nodal institution which conducts all the basic and advanced dive training for officers and sailors of the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Indian Army, Para military forces and NDRF. Besides this, the School also trains personnel from friendly foreign navies like Mauritius, Maldives, Kazakhastan, Kenya, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa, Seychelles, Fiji, Benin, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Timor Liste, Cameroon etc. Diving School was commissioned as an independent school on 01 May 1972. The school was accorded category "A" status on 01 May 1982. The School trains personnel as Clearance and Ship Divers who meet the requirements of ships and diving teams at shore establishments. The diving profession demands phenomenal amount of physical stamina, alertness and dedication to work. There can be no substitute to strict adherence of promulgated training standards. The school has set up a high standard for itself and aims to meet the demands of Navy and its sister services.
