A valedictory function to mark the successful course completion of the NBCD Instructor course was conducted at NBCD School, Lonavla on 02 Jul 22. The course comprised 27 trainee sailors from various branches of the Indian Navy, five from the Coast Guard and 12 trainee sailors from Friendly Foreign Countries namely Kenya, Tanzania, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh completed the intensive 16-week course to qualify as an Instructor in Nuclear Biological Chemical Defence including Fire Fighting and Damage Control.

The course commenced on 14 Mar 22 and saw 16 weeks of comprehensive theoretical and practical training on diverse NBCD subjects at NBCD School. In addition, educational guest lectures were conducted to enhance broad exposure to various facets of NBCD. Cdr MPS Azrot, Officer-in-Charge, NBCD School presided over the function and awarded book prizes and course completion certificates to the trainees.

Sumit Kumar Bhatt, POME, was awarded the Officer-in-Charge Rolling Trophy for standing first in overall order of merit. Prabhakar Kumar, Ag CHERA, was awarded a book prize for securing a second position. On passing out, the trainees will carry out the duties of NBCD Instructor onboard ships.
